Carson City Honors Our Troops
and Supports Our Wounded Heroes and their Families

Endorsed by the City of Carson City, Nevada
Supervisor Shelly Aldean, Liaison

Carson City, volunteers for Operation First Response, with the endorsement of the Carson City Board of Supervisors, are planning a city wide week-end benefit to "Honor Our Troops and Support Our Wounded".  We want to assure every visitor to this site that we are neither supporting or opposing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Our sole purpose is to help those heroes coming back from the wars.  All Americans owe these young men and women, who have given so much for our freedoms.  We owe them the support to live the lives we all enjoy.

May 16 through th 18th, 2008, will be a week-end that Carson City's residents can honor our troops and help support our wounded heroes, by taking part in one or more of the following events: A reception at the State Museum with a special military exhibit,  will be held on the 16th. The 17th starts with a pancake breakfast to serve the hungry prior to a parade that will start with the launching of Hot Air Balloons.  The Parade will begin at Carson Street and Stewart Street and go north ending in Mills Park where we will have an interesting mix of  Military static displays set up by all five military branches.  Intermixed with the Military Displays will be a Club and Association Fair, and a New and Classic Car show.  There will be an Art/Craft and Vendor Show on Plaza Street on May 17th & 18th behind City Hall, and a Fashion Show on the 18th.  We will have donation drive thru drop barrels in 20 different locations throughout the city on the 17th, and a Harley Davidson Motorcycle Show.  Saturday will conclude with an invitational Dinner/Dance at the Governor's Mansion.
